2010 Swim Team 
"The Home of the Rockets"
The River Edge Swim Team is open to all fulltime and weekday member children, ages 5 through 17. We practice from 8:30am - 9:45 daily during the full time season, with the exception of Wednesday, practice will end at 9:30.
The Team has enjoyed a long history of success both recently and in the past. Swimming has long been recognized as one of the best over-all conditioning activities. This is a great way to have fun, exercise, and even prepare for other sports. We are a member of the Central Bergen Swim League. The following teams belong to the league; Bogota, Rutherford, Waldwick, & Woodcliff Lake. This year we will be adding Rochelle Park.
Swimmers wishing to participate on the swim team must meet the following prerequisites for their age group;
· 6 & under swimmers must know how to swim freestyle and be able to swim across the pool on their own.
· All swimmers 7 years of age & older must know the concept of the four (4) basic strokes (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, & Butterfly) and be able to do them. The coaches will refine these strokes.
· The coaches are to coach your child and refine their strokes. Swim team is not the place for swim lessons on any level; it is the next level in the progression of swimming for those who wish to compete.
Sign-ups will be by return mail. We ask that you complete the enclosed form with your dues. Please note that Swim Team dues and volunteer fee require separate checks and cannot be included with your annual membership dues.
The cost per swimmer is $35.00. Additionally, parents are required to help with at least two of the swim meets. A volunteer fee of $50 (separate check, please!) must be submitted with your sign up sheet. You may help with shopping, timing, scoring, food concession, ribbon writing, etc. There is something that every family can help with so please plan to be an active volunteer. Your volunteer check will be returned upon the completion of your volunteer requirement. Our team success is based on your assistance and without every family’s help it is impossible to run the meets.
There will be a mandatory parents meeting Monday, June 7th at 6:15pm the same night that Swimming Etc will be at the pool to sell our team suits on
Monday June1st at 5:30. The suit is the same as last year TYR Nero Blue the cost are $44.00 for female suits and $32.00 male jammers.

The swim meets will be posted at the pool. We will be swimming on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Pre-season workouts are not mandatory, but are recommended. The dates for pre-season workouts in June will be posted at a later time on this website. Please mark your calendar now for the important dates mentioned in this letter.
